Since September 10, 2018, we've been collecting extra food from schools and giving it to people in Kern County who need it.

We take extra food from school cafeterias and deliver it to people who need it.

- Drivers from The Open-Door Network use refrigerated vans to move food safely.
- All drivers are trained in food safety.
- Over 117,000 people in Kern County don’t always have enough to eat.
- 1 in 5 kids in our area go to bed hungry.
- 30% of all food in the U.S. gets thrown away.
This program fights food waste and helps feed people at the same time.

- If you need food, you can get it for free at our pickup spots, no questions asked.
