What is Safe Sleep?

Safe Sleep is part of the Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) Program. This program helps parents and caregivers learn how to create a safe sleeping space for their baby. We follow the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) guidelines to reduce the risk of SIDS. We also provide support for families who are grieving a suspected SIDS loss.

Know the ABCs of Safe sleep:

  • Alone: Always place your baby to sleep alone, not in the same bed as others.
  • Back: Always place your baby on their back to sleep—naps and nighttime.
  • Crib: Use a safety-approved crib with a firm mattress and fitted sheet. No pillows, blankets, or toys.
